My complaint:
On the first episode of Ozark the FBI agent, out of the blue, compares Mexicans to mafia to muslims It doesn’t sound so bad right? Since we all know that all muslims are terrible and all muslims are terrorists. But, since i’m a muslim sitting watching this horrible analogi I didn’t take it well.
How could the writer just say muslims? not radicals not extremest not anything, just muslims So basically, being just a muslim is like being a criminal drug lord in the eyes of the FBI and now, in the eyes of the viewers of the serie. And again, in other episode, someone says not like I would vote for a muslim referring to Obama. It’s very clear that the writer has issues with muslims and perhaps all non-white-americans. How could such a discrimination make its way to the screen? How could a serie about money washing keeps bringing up muslim with no context?! It’s no news that Hollywood vilified muslims since the since WWII, but now Netflix!
Suggested solution:
Approve script content by a neutral editor not a white supremists.
Regulate a no discrimination policy? (you probably have this but only for LGBTQ etc..)
Delete that line for the serie.
