My complaint:
I’ve never gotten a single receipt from Netflix ever since I started paying for it. I KNOW the existence of the Biling Details on the page but it is insufficient to describe and verify the payment made.
I checked the laws in Malaysia and US. US laws – Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act, applies to merchants of all sizes in all states – businesses must print sales receipts.
I tried to reachout to the LiveChat, Edna, but her Question Bank does not cover receipt. All she said was since there is no bill sent then so no need for receipt. It’s not entirely her fault since her script couldn’t cater to my requests and questions.
It’s just a matter of IF Netflix wants to do it or not. Don’t tell me your programmers cannot alter the Biling Details page to be more comprehensive and detailed enough to be sufficient for Accounting, Audit and Tax purposes. Don’t tell me Netflix CANNOT issue receipts. I am subscribed to Google’s cloud drive, Apple’s Icloud and Canva and they are able to issue me with a receipt.
If Netflix doesn’t have invoices and receipts then how the HELL Netflix does its annual accounting, audit and taxation? Or don’t tell me, Netflix DOESN’T do any of that?
Suggested solution:
1. Issue online receipts to users' email as all other online businesses do.
2. Alter the Biling Details page to be more comprehensive and acceptable for the Accounting and Audit teams to accept it as proof of payment.
