Mercari complaint: Order broken in transit; no way to get a refund

My complaint:

A few months ago I ordered a serving platter from Mercari. It was poorly packed and shattered when it arrived. I spent hours on the Mercari site looking for a way to file for a refund but got nowhere. Their customer service phone number was not available and their links to possible resolution pages led to error messages.

I was able to discover the senders email address and sent a message to her asking how to work with Mercari to get my money back, but she refused to discuss the problem unless i communicated with her through Mercari.

Since my order was relatively small, around thirty dollars, I decided to write off the event as a lesson not to order through Mercari.

But I keep getting email from Mercari inviting me to order more stuff, and previous experience with them got under my skin a little. I’m going to give it one more try through complain.biz. I’m not optimistic because none of the Mercari complaints on your website have been resolved, and online reviews of Mercari are similar to mine and also unresolved.
