My complaint:

I was waiting to be served on the drive through, lane 1 in Totton, Southampton. I was waiting for at least 40 minutes and when I got to the speaker I told the worker I had been waiting a long time. I was then told I would receive a free drink for the inconvenience as I was now late for work and been passed by 12 cars by this point, my order was finally taken, I was then proceeding to first window were I was told that my order had not been taken. This was extremely frustrating to say the least. I then spoke to a manager called Harry who was extremely rude and not helpful at all and could not even tell me why I had to wait so long, telling me they are just busy. No apology, no offers of condolences for my inconvenience. I then paid the full amount and carried on with my day. I’m extremely disappointed with the service and the whole ordeal and will avoid going to this McDonald’s at all cost and continue to dissuade anyone else from using it.

Suggested solution:

I’d suggest more training for these individuals and also to ensure that fair treatment as a minimum should be offered to customers. This manager lacked basic social skills and didn’t even have the common courtesy to apologise for the wait while others were served well before me. As a serving British Armed Forces person it’s disappointing to come across someone operate at such a low standard as I hold myself to a high standard and expected that of a professional restaurant.
