My complaint:
I would like to report an employee that sprayed a cleaning chemical on my person.
The incident occurred at the Martinez, Ga location (03393-00067), order number 5008289, on June 27th, 2023 at approximately 1035 hours. As I entered the facility with the intent of purchasing a flat-crust pizza, I noticed two employees conversing on the right side of the counter. The cashier, Trifari J. stepped around her male co-worker and asked me for my order. I then stepped closer to the counter, just right of the register, and asked the cashier if she sold a thin-crust pizza. Just as I was ending the question, the male co-worker moved directly in front of me and uttered something as I was talking. It did not register what this person wanted, until he stated once more, ‘Excuse me’ with an awkward expression on his face. As I looked into his hand I noticed a spray bottle with an unknown chemical inside. As I backed away toward the register, the male worker sprayed the chemical at my side of the counter with no regard for my safety. The chemical landed on the counter and subsequently landed on my shirt and pants. Without any further remark, he wiped the counter with an apparent face of discontent.
As a Gulf War Veteran and ex-police officer, I dug deep to refrain from out lashing in the heat of the moment. Coupled with PTSD, I am in no way able to contain my anger like ordinary people…but, in this case, I simply stopped talking, looked at his face, and placed an order. ‘Ten Minutes’, the cashier stated after the financial transaction was completed. I walked outside to wait in my car.
As you may expect, I had to calm down within ten minutes. I was calm enough to walk back inside and ask for my receipt. The cashier thanked me and slid the pizza box toward me. I slid the box back, took my receipt, and stated, ‘Enjoy your pizza’.
My thinking is there is no way I am going to trust a person who was not only rude and disrespectful, but also had the job of making my food. This Little Caesars is my neighborhood pizza place for the past eight years. I have seen employees come and go during my time. Not one single time has anyone given me a reason to not trust, until today. I will no longer support the convenient location, service, and food products at the facility listed above.
As a parting gift, I will not file a complaint at Fort Gordon, Ga., a place where I served during my career.
