My complaint:

i bought 3 x 500g chicken pieces from lidl. as i put them into the pan,[on top of fried onions and spices] within 5 minutes the pan had filled up with a lot of water, from the chicken. it was impossible to brown the chicken, because of the excess water. i have always bought all my meat from lidl for many years. and never had this problem before. i have bought meat from other supermarkets in the past, and have had the same result. the point is, what is the meat going to be like next time i buy it, from lidl. i buy steak, beef, lamb etc. what are lidl doing?

Suggested solution:

i want a full refund for the three packets of chicken. with a guarantee it will not happen again. pumping water into meat is horrendous.

I just had the same experience yesterday evening. I roasted a 1kg pack of chicken thighs from Lidl alongside 2 other chicken thighs leftover from a pack from another supermarket. The tray was filled with juice/water after roasting and the chicken thighs from Lidl had all shrunken significantly from their original size whilst the 2 thighs from the other supermarket remained broadly the same size. The Lidl chicken thighs must have been pumped with water. As a result, Lidl is unethically charging more for their chicken than their stated price/kg by artificially increasing the weight of the chicken with water.
