My complaint:
For the last month or longer, there have been only two or three checkout lanes open at the busiest times. Lines extend down the food aisles. Each time I have asked, I have been told that checkout clerks have been not showing up and that efforts have been made to call others. Since this has been going on for over a month, should it not have been solved by now? Some staff have told me that management has laid off people or cut their hours; so clerks now have other jobs andor are hostile to management.
Suggested solution:
Hire or rehire responsible chekout clerks. Treat staff fairly; so that they retain some loyalty to the store. Perhaps, hire new management.
As of now, I am going to another non-Jewel grocery.
