My complaint:
On 5 December, my Urologist prescribed an antibiotic for me. This was done at 2:45. I called at 3:15 pm to check the status of the prescription and the person answering the phone relayed they had the prescription and we’re working on filling it and it would be a one hour wait.
At 5:05, I recalled the pharmacy, since it was 2 hours from when the prescription was called in. They said they were working on it (again) and I would be texted when they had it filled.
It is now 7:00 pm and I still don’t have the prescription so we physically went there. The prescription was laying there completed. Why didn’t I get notified of this? I NEEDED THIS PRESCRIPTION. This so unacceptable and wrong.
My question is how long does it take to fill a prescription? Four hours is a long time. This prescription was needed as soon as possible to prevent an infection from a kidney stone. Is this the normal wait? If so, I’ll have to go somewhere more dependable.
Suggested solution:
Improve their attitude and call immediately after it is filled.
