My complaint:

Needed to file an amendment for my 2019 taxes and at the time, paper filing was the only option. My H R Block representative prepared the documents for me and instructed me to mail them, which I did in the summer of 2020. I checked to the receipt of the paperwork in the fall, but the IRS did not have record of it yet. Subsequent checks produced the same results and at the beginning of the year 2021, I started reaching out to my contact at H R Block regarding my amendment and mentioned that e-file was now available for 2019 amendments that I felt we should file it electronically since the IRS still has not received andor processed it. He was adamant that I should continue waiting and if I e-file, I would further delay my refund since I already mailed the paper copies 6 months earlier. I attempted to do it on my own out of fear that the e-filing window would close for 2019 tax filing however, it was very confusing and I was not successful.

I also reached out for help and was scheduled to speak with another tax professional, who is also with H R Block today at 1:45pm. I was to expect a call from the representative at that time. I never received a call, email, text, etc. No surprise there. Not sure where else to turn at this point. Apparently the tax preparer that I was working with initially isn’t doing filings this season, or something to that effect.

Suggested solution:

They should e-file my 2019 amendment like I’ve been asking them to do since January, possibly earlier than that. I’ve been charged for their assistance in helping prepare the amendment, but yet it has not been executed.
