My complaint:
I paid for a peace of mind insurance on my 2017 taxes. I received a letter from State of California dated 11-9-2021 which I took to HR Block for review.
The tax analyst reviewed my tax return and admitted to me, in front of his office manager at the time that he had indeed made a mistake on my return. I was advised to pay the $2,914.93 and would receive a check from HR Block as a condition of the P.O.M. Insurance.
After repeated calls, visits to the office I got zero positive response.
Recently I have talked and met with analyst who coincidently no longer works there, met with his manager, took in all relevant documents.
I received a call last night from a gentleman, who I’ve never met, telling me he reviewed my return and cannot find any HR Block errors, so my claim is invalid?
I feel that they are now refusing to admit responsibility, now that the original analyst has either been fired or just left.
Please let me know if you can help me recover my entitled refund?
Suggested solution:
Send me a check that was covered under peace of mind insurance.
