My complaint:

Purchased HR Block HomeownersInvestors Deluxe State Tax Software. Ohio State Tax program guided me to take a $1002.00 Lump Sum Retirement Credit and didn’t show me any options. The Ohio State Tax they figured was $200.00 refund. A few months after filing I received a Variance letter from the Ohio State Dept of Taxation saying the amount of the credit should have been $250.00 and I now owe $372.00. I talked with HR Block on line, on many long phone calls, went to three local store trying show them what had been figured wrong by their program. All the things on the cover of the software say Maximum Refund Guarantee, 100% Accuracy Guarantee, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee were all lies by HR Block. Just one big run around after another. So please take me off of your advertising emails to buy another HR Block Tax for 2020.

Suggested solution:

If this company is really concerned for the time I spent trying to help correct what Ohio State says is a flaw in your program - what do you think is fair? You said I had $200.00 refund and I end up owing $372.00 - Hum - lets see that is a difference of $572.00 from your 100% Accuracy Guarantee. So you can put all the ads in big bright print on your 3 guarantees but you better read the fine print when it comes to HR Block.
