My complaint:
This is the first and last time that I ever use HR Block. This issue has been unresolved for 8 months. I continue to contact the branch we used, only to get the run around or having to leave a message that never gets returned. I paid our taxes owed but received notification that I owed an additional $2400 plus late fees. I sent all documentation and the woman who did our taxes apologized for the oversight. The manager also apologized and said it would be taken care of. 8 months later… it is still unresolved. She stated that it would take 6-8 weeks to receive the check from them and that I should pay it plus the fees and then send them the bill. I dont have an extra $2400 plus laying around!!!
I had bought the package that covers you if there is a problem or oversight on their part. However, I received a letter from HR block stating that they would not cover the mistake. However, the manager I was speaking with stated that it must be incorrect because it was indeed their mistake and that she does not know why that letter was sent. Again, here we are…. how many months later. This is a despicable company with even worse communication and management.
Suggested solution:
Immediately pay the $2400 plus late fees - especially since I had bought the $350 (ish) package to cover things like this! Next is the BBB and then a consumer complaintlegal action. They should be ashamed at how they run their business.
I also think that it would be in good faith to return the $350 dollars for the protection services that I purchased.
