My complaint:

Last year I heartbreakingly needed to file my sons final return, as he passed away January 2022. Provided his death certificate, ,all his ID info along with mine, it was completed as a representative filing on behalf of a deceased tax payor, and the cost was obviously higher because of the paperwork involved. I expected that. Despite how emotional it was, it went well and no issues with return, which was then placed into an account established for his then 2 yr old son. My complaint is…. They called my number yesterday asking for him! To remind him it’s time to file!! A SALES CALL!! WHAT?? Do they not have something in their system indicating he’s deceased? Especially after the special filing? They UPLOADED his death certificate! Social Security is flagged- And was done so ly. HOW does this happen? Does anyone there know how painful it is for a mother to receive that call? One that SHOULDN’T have happened? I’m livid!! Get your act together- DO BETTER. Hopefully this will spare anyone else the upset this caused me yesterday. Today, still missing my son but I’m angry!

Suggested solution:

no action needed. Just bringing attention to the situation to improve on trainingflagging accts of deceased loved ones. I can’t fathom how this happened! I rated a 3 because no issues prior to this call. Upsetting enough to drop 2 stars!
