My complaint:
At this point, I am thoroughly exhausted from calling HomeAdvisor over the course of the last 8 days, I just want this hell to end. I scheduled a service (gazebo assembly) to happen at my home on April 9, at 10 am. The morning of, I found an email from HomeAdvisor, providing a photo, name, and phone number of the person who was supposed to show up. Because some of the details in the email didn’t match what I thought I needed, I called H.A. The customer service rep said I needed to get in touch with the service provider to figure it out. The phone number listed in the email wasn’t even the right one, it belonged to a different contractor. Thus began countless phone calls, endless wait times, plenty of disconnects, and a different story from every person to whom I spoke. Finally I gave up, just asking that my money be refunded. I was promised by at least half a dozen people, including I was cc’d on an internal email from one H.A, department to another, ing that I most assuredly would NOT be charged for the service that never occurred. This morning, I learned that HomeAdvisor did indeed, submit a charge to my credit card just YESTERDAY, A WEEK AFTER THE NON-SERVICE, for $163.38. Once again, I called. I was given two more phone numbers to try. No live person at either one, and when I left a message asking for a call back, I am offered assistance by yet another clueless customer service representative. Repeated requests for a supervisor are met with no supervisor available, you have to wait 24 hours for an email response instead. I am beyond furious.
Suggested solution:
REFUND MY MONEY
