My complaint:

I have had 2 important issues recently with the GreenDot service. I’ve tried calling the customer support phone number and contacted them through the “chat” and the second issue has not been resolved to my satisfaction. Every time time I contacted support through chat, I would have to re-initiate contact again because the chat was ended the first time I would connect and ask my question.

1. Issues 1: In the last week of December 2020, I contacted GreenDot online support through “chat” to find out when my renewal debit card would be sent, as it had been more than the 7-10 business days for delivery. I was told it had already been delivered and activated. I was shocked to find this out and asked them to cancel that card and send another one. Within a few days, I received the first renewal card—which I thought was the second card. It was in a GreenDot envelope with no evidence it had been opened or tampered with. I opened it and the card didn’t have the “Activate” sticker on it, which I didn’t realize at the time. I thought it was the second card. I tried to activate it several times and when that failed I contacted GreenDot by calling the number on the back of my card and through chat again. That’s when they made it clear that the card had already been activated. I was confused as to how that could have happened when the envelope had not been opened. In a couple days, I received the second replacement card in the mail. When I opened it and saw the “Activate” sticker on it is when I realized it was missing from the other card. I closely watched my account to see if any money had been taken. There wasn’t asy money missing. I immediately activated it it and transferred all my money to my second account I have through GreenDot and closed that account.

Issue 2: On December21, 2020 I used the “Bill Pay” feature to have a check for $300.00 sent to a “Biller.” They never received it, but according to my GreenDot statement it had already been posted the very same day I requested it be sent. I, again. I contacted support through chat. I asked for a copy of the front and back of the check and they refused. I have not had any help whatsoever from GreenDot in finding out what happened to or where the check went, or who casheddeposited it.

So, at this time I would like my $300.00 to be immediately refunded to my account ending in 0648, expiring in 1223.
