My complaint:
Hello
Today i visited your store in Abingdon MD. I bought 3 things and used self checkout.
I scanned all 3 items heard the beeps. I did not have a grocery cart and had carried the items so i set the ice cream down and then scanned it. So then the machine s someone to come help. I went to pay and only one item showing.
Any way i scanned and paid. As i was walkinf out there were 3 of your employees all men standing off to the side. One guy said did she try to steal and the other guy said something about the look on my face. I am completely disgusted with these mens behavior.
I would.never steal and it was embarrassing for them tl say that. The other question would be if the machine scanned each item where did they go. I would like these employees reprimanded. I work in HR and this type of behavior is not acceptable and slanderous.
Also the reason i had a look on my face is because I was tired of waiting for someone to help.
AlSO my credit card is about the break so when I inserted it into your ridiculous machone I was afraid it was going to break. I want to know what you are going to do to make sure this doesnt happen to someone else
Suggested solution:
I want the employees dealt with and an apology. This is not acceptable behavior. To accuse someone of attempting to steal under $12 worth of food and to publicly embarrass that person. I want proof that Giant looked into who was working at the desk over near the self checkout around 7:30pm on 3/2/2024. Watch the video footage. I work in HR and would NEVER mistreat a customer. It is unprofessional. The fact they also made a comment about a facial expression is ridiculous. My credit card is about to snap so I was worried it would break. I can't believe I was treated like this.
