GFL Environmental complaint: Trash not picked up on scheduled day.

My complaint:

Our recycle was not picked up December 26 2023. Called to inquire as to why. People not helpful in resolving situation. Trash was not picked up on January 18,2024. Didn’t call because I find it useless to communicate with the office. GFL has an extremely bad reputation in the community from the first day of taking over our old trash service. I’ve been reading in a neighborhood forum they try to charge $50 if you cancel service.

Most customers in the area did not have a contract with their previous providers and do not have a contract with GFL. HOW IS COLLECTING the fee even possible? If you do not pay the fee they send it to collections then it goes on your credit report. They’ve monopolized trash service in my area buying up smaller companies. I want to change companies but, I’m sure there will be a battle over $50. Any help I can get would be appreciated.

Suggested solution:

Show up when they are supposed to. Have a more helpful office. Do not try to charge people who no longer want their service
