My complaint:
In March 2023, I bought a Frigidaire oven and microwave for over $3,800 from Home Depot. I didn’t expect it to break in just seven months.
When it stopped working, I called Frigidaire, and they said they would send someone to fix it. But I had to wait ten days for the technician from Stein Appliances to come. It was really hard not having an oven or microwave for so long.
The technician said the unit was completely broken and would tell Frigidaire to replace it. But three days later, Frigidaire hadn’t gotten any report. When I called Stein Appliances, they said they forgot to send it and would do it now.
Instead of saying it needed to be replaced, Stein Appliances said we needed to order five parts, and maybe one was broken. This didn’t make sense because the technician had said it couldn’t be fixed. I think Stein just wanted to make more money by fixing it instead of replacing it.
I agreed to get it repaired. Stein said they’d get the part by November 27th, but nobody came. When I called them, they said the part was delayed until Friday.
After waiting a month, I asked Frigidaire for a new oven. Stein Appliances lied to Frigidaire, saying they had the part and were coming to fix it on November 30th. But on the 30th, nobody showed up. Stein then admitted they didn’t have the part.
I called Frigidaire again, but they said they couldn’t do anything. Now, I’ve been without a working oven for over a month after paying almost $4,000.
Frigidaire doesn’t have an office in Canada, and their customer service is in the Philippines. They don’t seem to be able to help, no matter how much I explain my problem.
Stein Appliances seems to lie to get more money by ordering parts and charging Frigidaire for their time.
This whole thing has been a big headache for me as a customer.
Suggested solution:
Send a replacement.
