Family Dollar complaint: Rude, Incompetent, uncooperative employee

My complaint:

On Feb 4th mid-morning, I entered the Family Dollar at 3261 East Euclid, Des Moines, Ia. I had 2 digital antennas I originally purchased from the Family Dollar at another location the day before. As I enter there is only one employee by the name of Jason who is on staff who along with myself, are the only 2 people in the store….. JASON DURUNG THE WHOLE TIME IN THE STORE WHILE IM THERE…DOESN’T HAVE A MASK ON…I tell Jason I want to return the items for refund since they were the wrong antenna’s that I needed. Jason then tells me they don’t accept returns on electronics and tells me he will not issue me a refund. I asked why not, as I’ve been shopping with Family Dollar for years, in particular this location at East Euclid. I tell him I’ve never had an issue returning anything before, especially electronics. He tells me he will not give me a refund and says it’s store policy, and by his tone and body language it was clear that he had an attitude problem and body and spoke to me like I was bothering him. He tells me per store policy he will not give me a refund..I ask him to show me where in the policy it states that there is no return on electronics. He refused.. I then proceed to tell him to call the manager..he says then, that the manager is going to tell me the same thing…I then tell him ok then call the manager anyway. By this time yelling has began towards me…he refused to assist me…he continuously continues to argue and rebuttal me….. basically I came to the conclusion he didn’t know how to process a return but instead told me they don’t give refunds for electronics. I told him I’m taking his name and reporting to corporate…he said go ahead..he didn’t care. Ar this point there’s yelling going back and forth… from his behavior he was clearly under the influence. I then say forget it.. I’ll just make a complaint…I proceeded to take his picture and I also recorded a video showing his disrespect and unwillingness to assist me. I say finally..ok I’ll just exchange my items for something else because at this point I’m upset and have been in the store too long..I simply want to make my exchange or refund and leave. He then threatened to call the police and his manager… which I told him to go ahead while I wait…he repeatedly acted as if he was calling the police..never happened. He then calls a so called manager and says I threatened his life whick is totally a lie…all he did was pace back and forth… being figgety and smacking his lips.. clearly under the influence as I’m in the store…..he proceeds to tell me ok he will let me exchange the items. Keep in mind, I paid a total of $32 for the 2 items…the 2 items I was gonna now exchange since he refused my refund are only $16 total…leaving me with a return of $16. Jason obviously doesn’t know basic math not does he know how to process a return, hence all this mess started to begin with. I tell him just to give me the difference back of $16 in my pocket for the items I’m now exchanging. He got irate and clearly didn’t understand that I was due $16 but he attempted to do a swap of the items without doing the paperwork via cash register, issue me a refund and receipt. So now at this point Jason says…man, you act worse than these women in here a insult that he felt he needed to share…I told him that if you don’t like your job them quit. Jason now has decided he’s not going to exchange, refund items or help me in anyway. I told him I’d report this to corporate and he’d be in trouble for this situation as this was totally uncalled for. He proceeded to tell me that I won’t and can’t come back to the store…I told him that I will be back…he then said I’m threatening him that I’ll come back….I said I’m not threatening you but simply tell him I’ve been a customer for years and yes I’ll be back to shop again..but I refuse to deal with Jason ever again. I finally had enough of his ignorance and stupidity..he doesn’t know his job or basic math and clearly incompetent to perform his job. …..I then proceeded to the Family Dollar at store 05799, 1306 East 14th St in Des Moines, Ia. I proceed in tell the young lady why I’m there…SHE HAS HER MASK ON..she says no problem..takes care of me with my refund in 5 min. I ask about the policy about returns for electronics and tell her about the ordeal I had with Jason at the east Euclid store. She apologizes and says Jason was definitely wrong for what he said and did, and informed me my items I could return within 30 days with a receipt and the items not damaged. She was a great help and I want her to be recognized for going above and beyond to help. I’ve never experienced customer service anywhere especially at my local family dollar on Feb 5th. I have numerous family and friends who shop and spend money at Family Dollar. I’m filing this complaint and also putting your employee Jason on notice with this complaint here and also publicly. No customer should have to go into a store where Jason is treating paying customers in the way he treated me. Totally unacceptable and Jason should be reprimanded. I will tell all my family and friends and report this via social media to other customers so that they don’t have to experience I went through. I have video of the ordeal as well that I will share with my family and friends.

Suggested solution:

He should be reprimanded and terminated..no customer should have to experience this..he also had no mask. I have video as well.
