My complaint:
I was at Family Dollar (store04267) today at approx 3:02 on. Upon checking out a pregnant cashier requested my license because I was purchasing cigarettes. I thought she just wanted to look at it. She took it out my hands (she had no gloves on)and attempted to give it back. I asked her if she had sanitizer and she responded she didn’t speak English. I asked the cashier who was sitting down (she wore either a scarf or hijab) and she said I had to purchase it. I asked why they didn’t have any and she replied she had some but I couldn’t use it. She stated she couldn’t help me. I replied that was obvious. She went on a rant stating that I had a smart mouth and now I have COVID. She went on to say she tried to help me to which I replied she just told me she can’t help me. She walked away stating my father had it too. I was shocked at her nasty tone and her complete disregard during a pandemic to say something so nasty. This exchange was in front of another customer which let me know she didn’t care how she or Family Dollar was received. I am very upset and don’t plan on shopping at any Family Dollar again.
Suggested solution:
Disciplinary action for the employee and hand sanitizers near the entrance of the store or near the registers.
