Family Dollar complaint: Charged twice and forced to get duplicate product not refund

My complaint:

I recently was in the store located at 4530 W Valencia Rd it’s at Valencia and Camino De la Oste and I called and spoke to a girl named Michelle who was very polite and she told me to bring in my reciept and a refund would be initiated. I really didnt think there would be an issue until I I arrived and the manager Jessica came out and was not so friendly or even understanding really she just told me she was going to the back yo b ooou we the cameras and proceeded to the office. She later sent another girl out to locate me in the store and told me that Jessica stated I was not going to get a refund because did not have all my items I purchased present. I explained I live relatively far away but that the first person never explained to me that that was necessary and did I have any clue that anything other than my reciept was going to be needed for my refund and it was simply their mistake not mine and I felt like I was being treated unfairly and given poor directions by the employee there as to what was required and if I had known I would of brought it and if I didnt live 15 miles away from this particular store and already came once again I was not so quick as to go and get my item at my home. I asked for what was the reason for them to need that item if they looked at the camera and it was their mistake then it should be easily refunded I assumed but she informed me that theres a specific code on the item that’s individual and only that one item has its it’s its individual numbers and even the same item couldn’t be used at that time since it had to be the item I had at my home since every item has a code even if it’s the same product. . I knew that was not probably correct but I went ahead and got the duplicate item I only needed one of and proceeded to the counter to be rung up. There was no apologies nor concern for what had occurred on THEIR ERROR it’s really sad that never once were they apologetic for making me come back twice, inconveniencing me as well as the gas cost of driving 30 extra miles today. They simply never even cared and pay mo mind that when I spoke to the employee that she never told me to bring in that item to be refunded. I simply had to be forced into buying this product 2 times and they never gave me back my reciept. This happened at approximately 7:50pm on November 29th. 2020. The 2and Tom ed I came back was at 2:51 PM on November 30, 2020 and this whole situation was clearly lack of good customer service skills nor do they treat their customers like they matter or want them to return. I will be in touch with the BBB about this no one should have to pay for the mistake of the family dollar employment who charged me twice mistake. This place was unfriendly and unprofessional and I think they need some help on good customer service skills.

I would like my money back and possibly an apology
