My complaint:
In May 2022 I travelled from STL to Hyderabad through a single Etihad ticket booking. When I reached Hyderabad I did not receive my baggage and I filed a complaint. I was traveling for 10 days for a wedding. Since I did not receive my one bag that I checked in I had to shop for wedding and other daily essentials.
A claim has been filed with Etihad, related to delayed Baggage other than the acknowledgement email I have not received any other information from Etihad. I had to continually keep calling customer service to get an update. Almost after 6 months when I called they said that my case has been closed as American airlines is the carrier from STL to Chicago, they stated that American airlines did not load the baggage on time in Chicago. I was told to file a claim with American airlines, which I did. Now American airlines declined the claim stating Etihad is the final carrier and they are responsible for this not us.
This has been a very frustrating process, Etihad’s customer service is the worst. Everytime I call all they can tell me is progress on my case other than that there is no one to further assist you or answer your questions.
Last one year I have spent numerous hours filing complaints and talking with customer service people. Soo much of my own personal time has been wasted due to Etihad’s negligence and no accountability.
I am claiming for 1500$, I have the receipts for purchases and my time that has been wasted throughout this whole process.
Suggested solution:
I need my money back, in the middle of an important family event I had to go and shop for all my essentials and clothes. They need to realize how much of an inconvenience they have caused me. And an apology for their non existent customer service. I would give a zero for rating. Me and my spouse are Etihad silver members, after this never ever travelling through Etihad again.
