My complaint:
This is a letter I sent to the manager of Econolodge in Oconto, WI by email and snail mail
almost three weeks ago with still no response. I book my reservation through Choice Hotels. I have been a member for over 20 years and never complained until now. Choice Hotels does have a place to complain but it is limited in the number of words in the complaint and also does not allow any pics. My unanswered letter to the manager is as follows:
Hello,
I appreciate your email asking me to tell you about our stay at Econo Lodge. We have been staying at your facility since it was built originally as the Ramada Inn. We live in Texas and visit relatives in Oconto occasionally. Our past stay at Econo Lodge has been a disappointment. The first weekend we were awakened by a party next door that came in around 2:20 a.m. They argued with each other loudly until about 4:00 a.m. Around 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. they resumed their arguing tossing obscenities back and forth as they had done earlier.
I went to the front desk to complain and informed him that if that party wasn’t checking out that morning we would check out and find another place to stay. He assured me that they were checking out that day. The following weekend we were once again awakened around 2 a.m. This time several parties were slamming doors and playing T.V.s or radios loudly.
Someone tried to open the door to our room but after several unsuccessful attempts eventually discovered they had the wrong room. Listening to the train every night was a minor annoyance compared to all this. The train unfortunately is a necessary nuisance, but the rest is unacceptable. We have been members of Choice Hotels for over 20 years and have not had any experience such as our last stay in Oconto.
All staff were polite and friendly. We did find that housekeeping does not make beds. I will attach pics of the damaged shower wall and towels and repairs to the ceiling in the bathroom. Some towels were very stiff and were worn completely through in some places. I held a couple of towels to the light to show the places that were worn.
Suggested solution:
Most of the sleepless nights were on the two weekends of our stay. I would like a credit for 4 days.
