My complaint:
To whom it may concern
I would like to make a complaint and also to let you know that I will also be going further with my complaint .
Tuesday the 5th of August myself my partner and our 4 kids where on the runway about to board our ryanair flight FR1116 From Dublin to Barcelona reus @ 16.55 (Delayed 39mins) . My partner was tapped on the shoulder by someone who works on the runway and told to step back over to the exit doors .
None of us were aware what was happening.
My kids were in an awful state.
When I asked my partner what was going on his reply was Haven’t a clue !
About 5 minutes later the same man who had pulled him aside told him he will not be boarding today’s flight . He also told my kids there dad will not be going on the flight today. My kids were very upset and unconsolable. When we asked what the problem was he said my partner was vaping on the runway. My partner said he was very sorry he didn’t realise that he wasn’t allowed . (We haven’t travelled in over 10years) My partner was then asked to leave the runway and he said no as I wasn’t aware of this it won’t happen again . My partner was then threatened with the guards been called to escort him from the grounds. My kids are 5 10 and 11 and this has really scared them and ruined our whole holiday as they thought the police were coming for there dad .After about 10minutes the man said look OK you can board the flight. After already ruining our family holiday. We then headed towards the plane and we were both in shock after what happened . We proceeded to laugh with the kids just to act like everything was okay until the same man came back up and told my partner Right that’s it your not boarding no plane iv decided your not going . He then proceeded to follow my partner up the flight stairs and tell all the airplane crew about him again my kids were in an awful state. My 10 year old daughter had a panic attack during all of this . I will also take the time to re write this complaint on pen and paper and have it delivered to you. What was suppose to be an amazing holiday was turned into a nightmare from your ground staff. I understand my partner should not have vaped on the runway but he was not told any different and the way he was approached about the situation was absolutely appauling. I would like to meet with you in person and also the ground staff that was there on the day as I believe we were treated very unfairly. Also my partner is of African background and I believe he was pulled because of racism as I myself and a couple of others also vaped beside him and was not pulled. I think the situation could have been sorted out alot more professionally than it was . I do have a number of witnesses also as there were a number of people travelling who were also disgusted with the carry on.
