My complaint:
First ~ 5 or 6 months ago I went in for an 18 pack of Busch beer advertised @ $7.95 an 18 pack. I had been buying it at that price for weeks, or even months @ $8.52 after tax. I walked in, saw that the price was still $7.95 as per a large yellow sign on the cooler door, brought my purchase to the register, and the fellow rung it up as $10.65 after tax. I said WHOA… it still shows this item as $7.95 right on the cooler door! The man (Joey) said he was sorry, but the register wouldn’t let him correct the error (BALONEY). I new he was lying and I walked out. Second ~ Never bought beer there again until I walked in yesterday to get some orange juice and saw that Vizzys brand seltzers were on sale for $7.95 a 12 pack. I actually took down the sign and brought it to the register and asked the man (don’t remember name) IS THIS ACCURATE? He said yes, if it’s Vizzys, yes, but I don’t know if we have any more in stock. I found one, brought it to the counter and he rung it up as $14 and change. He apologized and said VERBATIM what the other cashier had said, that the register wouldn’t allow him to correct the error. This excuse (lie) has been taught to these cashiers to tell customers, even though they can correct AT THE REGISTER issues of false advertising. I have never run into this type of dishonesty at the other Dollar General just 4 miles South of here. I’m PISSED.
Suggested solution:
STOP THE LYING.
