My complaint:
Recently I signed up for dish . at time of agreement , the salesperson on phone signed me up with the mutual understanding that there was not an extra 5.00 a month
charged , if I choose to opt out of autopay.
He infaticly stated , your price is locked even if you choose to opt out of autopay ,
that shouldn’t effect your pricing.
Then a day later , I logged onto my account online , and noticed they
automatically enrolled me in autopay when I specifically stated I wanted to opt out of it
during my sign up for service.
I had to take the account settings off of autopay , but they are saying I will have to pay
The extra 5.00 a month more for opting out.
I never agreed to auto pay at sign up and nowhere did they relay to me it would be
required of me , if I want the service for 5.00 less per month.
They said my rate was locked under contract regardless of autopay or not ,
Not that I would be strongarmed by them if I opted out of it.
I live in Pennsylvania and I’m pretty sure my state has anti strong arming laws that
Protect me from things like this autopay scam , forcing people to pay 5.00 extra if they opt out of autopay.
Dish is nasty twords me about the whole matter.
I hope someone could relay my issues to the right eyes .
Thank you so much.
Martin.
Suggested solution:
Allow me to pay the locked in rate under the contract , but without the 5.00 penalty a month for not being enrolled in their autopay .
