My complaint:

41320 trip booked to Hilton Head from Lexington. The website says if a basic economy ticket was purchased after 43021 they are not changeable or refundable. My tickets were booked well before this date. Delta’s logo advertises more destinations and no change fees. This was booked on 41321 and I spoke to rep with Delta Sky Miles to verify everything with my trip to Hilton Head and the new card I Signed up with on 41321. When I noticed on 620 when preparing for my trip that it had me flying into SAV Hilton Head International. I called and was waiting on hold all night long constantly being hung up on. After finally getting through to someone on chat and explaining that it was the wrong airport, was told that I could correct to the correct airport for $570. I was ok with that, but did not realize that was per person. I thought that was the fee for making the change. That charge was for $1615 on one place I pulled up. My credit card statement has an additional $1710.00. The airport should have been fixed when talking to the rep on 41321. Since it is impossible to reach anyone on the phone, I visited the airport and spoke with the lady at the counter. She said someone had made several changes to my account and the tickets had been rescheduled several times. I did not make these changes nor do I know anything about them. The only change that should have been made was on 620 when I literally stayed up all night long to speak with someone over my trip. I have been sick over this charge, upset, and just can’t believe that this could not have been updated. The flight is correct now. I am a travel agent myself. I verified everything and if in fact I did make the mistake then I would be happy to pay a fee, but $1710 is unheard of in this industry, especially when the initial cost of the tickets was only $656.20. As a first time customer ever flying with delta this is crazy and has ruined my whole vacation before it even got started.

Suggested solution:

As a first time customer with Delta I believe the $1710 be refunded as a 1 time courtesy. I don't think it is right that Delta is advertising No Fees and then charging me 3 times the value of my initial tickets. Also, these tickets were purchased on 4132021 before the policy was put in place for non refundable basic economy flights.
