My complaint:
I’m having a very bad customer service experience with Cloudflare. Two days ago (14) I bought one domain .com with Cloudflare. It was a mistake as they don’t allow me to use the DNS servers I need to use. They don’t cancel the registration (so I can buy it again, from some honest registrar like Namecheap; they don’t refund the money (it seems that’s the only thing that matters to them). Anyway, they supposedly sell a registration of something I can’t control, since that I have to wait 60 days to be able to transfer the domain to some honest registrar, like Namecheap. It all seems kind of stupid to me. I paid for a domain that I cannot use with Cloudflare’s DNS servers. Cloudflare does not allow me to change DNS servers. And I have to wait 2 months to be able to transfer to another registrar.
I’ve already asked Cloudflare support to cancel the domain universitorium.com – this money is not important to me (that seems to be all that’s important to them). I can pay again. If they cancel this registration I can register the domain universitorium.com with Namecheap. The way they are acting, you are not allowing me to use the domain. This is not correct, after all I paid and I can’t use it.
Suggested solution:
There are 3 alternatives: 1) they may allow me to use my host's DNS servers; 2) they can transfer the domain to Namecheap; 3) can they cancel this registration so that I can re-register with Namecheap. The registration money is not important to me, but the domain is, after all I paid for it and I can't use it. Cloudflare has very bad business practices. They are not concerned with listening to the customer. They create hidden restrictive clauses that you only discover after falling into the trap. Cloudflare has a good reputation for protecting domains, but they shouldn't act as a registrar, they're not right.
