My complaint:
I had a gift card from Checkers, which was unfortunately taken during a hijacking. This card was reported stolen on the 16th January 2023 at Checkers Riverside Mall with the Floor Manager (name withheld). No replacement card was given however the manager informed me that the card has been stopped, and she will call and advice what needed to be done next. No call was received from the service provider hence I returned to the store after 3 days. The same manager followed up with the head office, which also took up hours before giving the update. I received a call on the same date and informed that the card has zero balance because two amounts were swiped on the same date it was reported (time after the incident was reported) as well as another transaction the following day. (16th and 17th January 2023).
I need to be refunded from the store for the money that was utilized after having reported the card.
Suggested solution:
Issue a replacement card.
