My complaint:

On November 9, 2022, I wanted to surprise an old friend who has fallen on hard times with a $100 gift for his birthday. The payment went through immediately and I didn’t give it another thought until I ran into him last week. I asked about the payment and showed him the transaction but he then proceeded to tell me that he is now living in a nursing home and has no access to any financial accounts. He contacted CashApp for help in getting the funds and they basically told him he was out of luck and so was I! I reached out to their support and they stated he would need to initiate the contact with them (which he did unsuccessfully) to resolve. He has no access to internet and a phone with limited capability to access internet. I would like to get the funds back so I can give him a cash payment. Can you help me please.

Suggested solution:

refund the money to my cashapp account so I can give him the gift in cash.

Gave elderly mother cash app card so she wouldn’t need to go to Western Union. Sent $50 to test card when it arrived. If refunded the money each time. Said there was a block. We just got this card. No block. We had mom call to see what the problem. They told her to have me call. When I called they told me to have her call. Got hung up on twice.
