My complaint:
I went to China Camp State Park with 2 friends to mountain bike using my Cannondale Tango 2 for the very first time. About 34 of the way, while sliding on loose rocks I realized the front wheel was wobbly but I couldn’t stop on time because it was down-sliding as I had to stay balanced. The nightmare happened, front wheel came off, I fell to the front left. My left rib hurt, new bike shorts got a hole on the left on the lower hip part and my hip was scratched with some skin off. Apparently the axle came off. It was frightening. I looked around, couldn’t find the part that came off, the axle tightener and the spring. My friends were already ahead of me. I had to carry my bike for the rest of the trail limping. I was so lucky it didn’t happen at a higher altitude where I could’ve fallen deep off the hill. I could’ve died. I’m still gathering my confidence now to go back again. It was pretty traumatizing. I have pictures from that day. I never had the need to take off the wheel because I have an X1 where my bike fits perfectly in the back with the back seats folded down. There was no reason for the axle to come off and I just had recently bought the bike. I have the receipt.
Suggested solution:
I’m very traumatized, I don’t know what to think at this point.
