Best Western complaint: Elderly Couple Once in a Lifetime Trip

My complaint:

My Wife made a Reservation through Bookings.Com for 2 rooms for a stay January 9,2023 for 1 night. We chose this location for its closeness to the airport. Total payment for the rooms totaled $590.52. Reservation 3680371439 Pin 9300.
Because of the major storms along the California coast we knew that there was a chance that we would not be able to make this reservation. On January 4th, 2023, i contacted Bookings.com and they informed me that only the hotel has the authorization to cancel the reservation. Booking.com representative was very polite and helpful.
After this conversation my wife immediately called the Best Western 650-347-9990 and spoke to an Annie or Ann twice hoping to cancel the reservations. This young lady informed my wife that the Manager Chris was not available and he would call us back. I called back 2hours later and 4 more attempts after that. On the 6th attempt my wife spoke with a Jacqueline and she informed my wife that Chris was off for the weekend. We asked if we could speak with anyone else and Jacqueline stated Chris was the Manager and only he could make that decision. To this date we have never had a phone call from anyone connected to Best Western.
We are Senior citizens on fixed incomes and hoping that some satisfaction could come from the Corporate Office. Our email address is effieweismore@gmail.com
