My complaint:
I’ve only had the account a few months and used it for my direct deposit, in June I was in a car accident and progressive insurance sent me a check for the claim any amount of $546. Bank of America made me get a signature guarantee for my finance company on the check, I deposited it and initially was given a few days for funds were made available which was changed to 10 days. The funds were set to be made available on 71422, on 71322 they closed my accounts. With one day left before the funds were set to be made available to me, mind you I’ve been waiting for 10 days already. When I called them they stated it was a business decision, however their business decision causing my vehicle to be at risk of repossession and left me penniless until payday which is over a week away. This is unacceptable but one day left before the funds were set to be made available they should have left the account alone until I was able to take the money out of the bank now I have to wait an additional 5 to 10 days before they actually return those funds to me? This is unacceptable.
Suggested solution:
They should make the funds available to me immediately without any delay as their decision has caused me grievous financial duress
