My complaint:

Hi
I have been trying to request both Auckland council and Auckland Transport to take appropriate steps to safeguard residents in the area as the road (Brookview dr) is exposed to high traffic both cars and heavy vehicles. Furthermore more, we face speeding issues . I have only requested the departments to lay a pedestrian crossing , speed bumps and restrict speed limits to 30 / 40. The road has access to Barry Curtis and Ormiston school. Children and senior citizens are regular pedestrian on the road . The road had few serious accidents fortunately no fatal but the probability of fatalities is high.
Auckland Transport has explicitly declined request and have refused to accept that the road has high traffic and no need for pedestrian crossing.
I would like an independent enquiry and inaction by the department.
Furthermore, the complete Flatbush suburb has no pedestrian crossing eg Flat bush school road
I will be obliged if this issue is highlighted and action be taken for the safety of tax payers / residents.

Suggested solution:

1. Pedestrian crossing required
2. Speed limits to 30km/hr
3. Speed bumps to be laid.
