My complaint:
Around 10/22/2024, I made the decision to discontinue my propane service with Amerigas due to their overall high propane prices and extra fees they have been charging me for years (you current customers of Amerigas know exactly what I am talking about.) And started doing business with a better company. On 11/15/2024
I received the following invoice with these charges on it.
11/4/2024 – Tank Pick up charges to recover their own property $299.99
State sales tax on pick up charges – $19.50
City sales tax on pick up charges – $5.10
Local sales tax on pick up charges – $2.40
11/4/2024 – Service Dispatch fee – $119.99 (Now removed), but still owe for the above pick up fees they claim are reasonable due to their terms and conditions policy. These are just the charges to discontinue business with this company. When my account was active, there were charges like this;
1. Haz Mat Fees (Taxable) – 2. Fuel Recovery Fees (Taxable) – 3. State sales tax. – City sales tax. – Local sales taxes. Again, you current Amerigas customers know exactly what I am talking about. And can someone please explain to me how you can charge someone for a Fuel recover fee when you are DELIVERING propane and not removing it? And yet, when I changed to my new propane provider, all these extra charges went away. Therefore, customers of Amerigas, be advised, there are other choices when it comes to your propane needs.
Suggested solution:
Remove pick up charges and zero out my balance as this is no way to conduct business with a long term customer of this propane company
