My complaint:
seller sent me a toy phone, it’s an android phone with custom rom to be specific. Seller installed a custom android rom to fake the phone specification. Seller refuses to refund initially, so I filed a dispute in aliexpress. The dispute didn’t go well, aliexpress says I should be testing the phone according to seller’s standard ( which is opening the setting menu on the phone ). I can see it’s showing 256GB storage on first startup, then I restart the phone, it shows 128GB, that’s weird, I then installed a phone testing app, it turns out to be a 1.3GB LOL. I then filed a dispute via paypal hoping that they would help. Paypal asked me to send back the item for a refund after communicating with aliexpress. However, the shipping costs send the item back to seller is even higher than the item itself. At this point, I decided to send back the item without tracking which costs CAD$30, it was a BAD decision. paypal says my proof of shipping is invalid without a tracking number, even though I have proof of postage from Canada post showing seller’s name and destination zip code, and pictures of the package accepted by post office. Now the seller has closed it’s shop and removed all listings on Aliexpress, seems like it disappeared.
Suggested solution:
Look at proof of postage as a valid proof of item returned to seller.
Look at the true phone specifications by phone testing app
