My complaint:
At approx. 7pm, at the Haverhill branch i was served by a member of staff of Asianmixed ethnicity. (description to aid identification purposes.
A polite customer asked whether or not, I would care to to go in front. as I had a small basket of shopping and they were unloading their trolley. When I approached the staff member, sitting at the till, I respectfully passed him the basket informing him the customer behind asked me to go in front.
He pulled the basket aggressively from my hands and proceeded to bang it down hard on top of the customers food behind me, then pushing down hard with a smearing action crushing the food items into the conveyer belt. I felt very embarrassed for the poor customer who just allowed me in front of her. I assume the items under neigh were completely ruined.
He then served me the whole time with the back of his head facing me without acknowledging me. He regularly serves me whilst looking away the whole time.
Furthermore, on other occasions he insists on addressing me as his brother, buddy or mate. I am no such thing and haven’t been addressed by another adult like that before. i am a regular customer who otherwise has nothing but praise for the staff and supermarket.
I have expect to be treated with more dignity and respect by staff when I choose to spend my money in a store. I am a forensic scientist and conduct myself professionally and expect to be treated the same.
Please address these issues with the staff member responsible.
Kind regards
SAM
