My complaint:
I am a small business owner and I advertise on Yelp! each month for my business. Recently, I have had a significant number of 1-star
reviews getting posted on our business page that are in clear violation of the FTC’s Consumer Review Fairness Act as the reviews
are stalking and harassing, we have never done business with the reviewer, the reviewer doesn’t even mention any experience they
had with the business, either. The same person seems to be behind it to the extent they have also created phony profiles to post as
other people. I have repeatedly been reporting the reviews along with the profiles to Yelp’s review department and nothing happens.
They just remain in place! It is harming my business, it is costing me customers and it could potentially cause me to lose my current
clients. This is ridiculous!! I am fully protected by the law from phony profiles, fake reviews, stalking, harassment and so on and so
forth. I expect Yelp to abide by their terms and conditions and remove these illegal reviews and block these fake profiles.
Suggested solution:
Remove the reviews in violation along with the profiles that posted the reviews as these reviewers are engaging in harassment and stalking and it is making us very uneasy for our safety as well as the safety of our employees
