I recently had a problem at this store where the smooth olive oil was incorrectly placed over the BOGO deal for the robust, The BOGO tag did not distinguish which oil had the promotional price.After purchasing the product this morning, I realized I didn’t get the reduced price and returned to the store. No one was at the customer service desk and I had to interrupt some clerks who were chatting i.e., not working, to get assistance. The clerk took my item and returned with the manager. In the mean time they apparently fixed the shelf and changed merchandise around. The manager told me it was not on sale and said it was not true that shelf price was incorrect.
I understand stocking mistakes happen, but I am disappointed with the manager’s condescending attitude when I pointed out their BOGO label was misleading. He told me I should have matched the bar code on the oil with the promotion. It is his obligation to ensure the prices are correct, not mine. Then he turned his back on me and walked away. I told him this isn’t resolved and he said he was done. Besides speaking in a foreign language with his staff, he was very unprofessional and exceedingly rude. He slandered me in front of many people by essentially calling me a liar. This man is not suited for any position involving customers and should be relocated to another store where his attitude is accepted.
Additionally, Winn Dixie, my opinion, is responsible for the incorrect pricing due the the manager’s incompetence and has violated The Consumer Unit Pricing Act under Florida law. I’ve been shopping at this location since they opened, Now, I’ll be going to Publix.
Winn Dixie should reassign or demote store manager and ensure shelf pricing is clear and not misleading.
