My complaint:

I went to Winn Dixie today 01172022. I was purchasing my groceries and I had some alcoholic beer and was carded by the cashier (Trudy). I’m 53 years old and it’s obvious that I’m older than 21. However, I complied and pulled out my driver’s license to show her (Trudy). She asked to scan my license and I asked why it needed to be scanned and also inquired if I had to comply. She took my question personnel and began to give an attitude and lecture followed calling the assistant manager who was close by. The manager on duty was (Anthony) but it must’ve been the assistant manager. The lady that answered my question told me it was the store policy and I accepted her response and said that I will buy my alcohol in the Win Dixie liquor Store where there are not so many invasive policies. This in turn bothered (Trudy) who continued to lecture and speak aggressively to me in front of many customers I might add even after the manager, and I discussed it and I understood the policy. (Trudy) was very rude and I am a customer and have a right to ask an obvious question and express that I don’t agree with the policy but that I will comply. Her behavior was not professional and as a customer I did not appreciate it. It will certainly remind me not to shop there anymore.

Suggested solution:

I hope they speak with their employees and tell them that customers have the right to ask about a policy and express that they don't like it. This is not an authoritarian society and Winn-Dixie is not the only Grocery Store. I understand that it's a store policy, but I don't agree with it. It's not a law to scan any documents that I have, and I have my rights. The law of the ID is look at the date to see if one is old enough to buy alcohol and not to scan my personnel information and be rude about it. I've attached my receipt to identify location and employee (Trudy).
