My complaint:
I went to Vue at Finchley Central Barnet evening of 22/5/25 to watch Hurry Up Tomorrow at 8.15pm. The counter assistant was Asian and her English comprehension was inadequate as was her knowledge of what the cinema was showing. I asked to see Hurry Up Tomorrow and she replied you want tomorrow or today!!! I tried to explain to her the film is called Hurry Up Tomorrow and it is only on today at 8.15pm not tomorrow. She again replied you want tomorrow or today!!! At which point I asked for an assistant who understands English context and also knows what the cinema is showing because this is not good customer service!!! At which point the woman attacked me verbally as if she had done nothing wrong – a male Asian assistant helped her issue the ticket and then she rudely refused to serve me food!!! I moved over to an English female who served me in the proper manner. I wanted to speak to the manager because I felt I had suffered a verbal assault from the Asian female who attempted to project her poor performance onto the customer me – but he was not available. When I left the cinema the manager was standing with the female in question and they were laughing in my direction – I did not attempt to interrupt whatever inappropriate joke they were sharing as he was also Asian. A male English member of staff did acknowledge to me that he had witnessed what had happened to me and could not understand why they keep employing people with such poor English comprehension as it gave poor customer service. Needless to say the dynamics in this Vue venue are all wrong.
Suggested solution:
Employed staff that have good English comprehension and know what films the Vue venue is showing on any given day!!!
