Varo Bank complaint: Misleading and Unethical Practices

My complaint:

We recently went on a retreat to a hotel and resort and had to put a $100 deposit on the room. Well the hotel released it after 5 business days. We did not know this and contacted the hotel after 2 weeks. They ed that they returned the deposit of $100 back to my account with Varo Bank and that it should be there and if not to contact Varo Bank. Well I did and they want proof of an invoice on how I paid for the deposit to it was done through my account. I did this and now they are saying I have to wait for up to 2 weeks for a response and may have to wait 30 plus 1 calendar days for the money to go into my account. This is a completely predatory practice on low income individuals who depend on these funds. They are doing everything in their power to hold onto people’s funds(not theirs) as long as they possibly can. I don’t even understand how they can legally continue to operate in the field of banking.

Suggested solution:

I will be satisfied when the my money goes back into my account. I have never heard of waiting beyond ten business days. There is no excuse for this in the digital age with instant payments. I will also be satisfied once they acknowledge that these policies are predatory to low income individuals and that they will review and change these policies.
