My complaint:
The order was later than the promised last arrival time, and when I asked about my delivery, all they said was from some standard script like sorry you may face this issue and never answered my question straight away.
When the agent asked whether I wanted to cancel the order, I told the agent that I had a low-blood sugar family member and needed delivery instead of cancellation. Then the agent still went ahead and cancelled my order. This is a violation of personal data regulation as well.
When I asked why my order was cancelled(I had to re-reach the chat function because the agent ended the chat without resolving my issue), all he said was that I would not be charged, but he did not mention the fact that I waited for 1.5 hours and he rudely cancelled my order.
I approached Uber many times asking for an apology, the food I ordered to be delivered, and compensation as Uber broke the latest delivery time promise.
Now Uber’s response is that I would not be charged (which has never been the point!), and disabled my ability to respond to their useless messages. What about the low-blood sugar person waiting for the food? What about cancelling my order while I begged don’t do this? What about the latest promised delivery time? What about answering all these questions?
If this issue is not resolved, Uber can basically charge hungry people for food and then incur no extra costs if they choose not to fulfil the order.
Suggested solution:
Deliver the missed food, apologize for canceling my order whilst I asked the order not to be canceled, publish the rough and abusive agent, and compensate me for failing delivery time promise.
