My complaint:
This app needs to be shut down. Not up for discussion just shut down by Parliament.
I’ve had enough. I work in the 999 call handling service in London and previously in south east of England and I heard about people hearing a “trend” on TikTok m. There been so many now and I’ve heard countless mums and dads cry their eyes out to their dead child. Hangings, self harming. Utter stupidly started by someone who has severe issues.
How many other children need to die due to stupid social media trends before the people running the apps should be charged with the crimes they’re committing.
I am always very safe with what my son looks at with these websites and sometimes the video can be a bit silly or damn right concerning. The latest one I have just seen involves a lady by the name of candies cooking. The videos aren’t that bad but the comments are absolutely disgusting but she has multiple videos with these disgusting comments and she should be allowed to still post but have her comments permanently turned off for her own well being before any mental health scars take effect.
I know this is more a social media issue but once again it seems to boil down to tiktok and it’s moderators who seem to not give any kind of care and just let it be a free for all and show no signs of improving
Suggested solution:
I know it won’t happen but the only way I can see an immediate fix is TikTok are shut down and rebuilt so the app is safe. Maybe disable anyone from commenting on any video uploaded and if there content is inappropriate users are removed and faces put in a database so they can’t upload anywhere else
