My complaint:

On January 11th 2022 I had an appointment with our local Salvation Army for help with rental assistance due to the covid19 pandemic. I had brought I all the information they had asked from me rental agreement 6 months of pay stubs( which was confused of why pay stubs they had not been asking everyone for proof of income)and a past due utility bill. As I sat there and answered all their questions including how many months I was still behind on rent due to the pandemic. They refused to help me stated I made to much money and claimed I made over 35,000 a year which was untrue I make barely 30,000 a year not only that they wouldn’t count the 2 other people who were living with me during the pandemic cause they were not on my lease. There had been several of individuals in the community that had stated that they had received help from the same Salvation Army and was never asked for any of the information that was asked from me and everyone of those individuals had received help. I was confronted by the Manger of Salvation Army and was told I was denied due to my annual income which my annual income is like 20,000 less than what they were trying to say. The Manger become very rude and short not to mention being argumentative with me about not wanting to help me with rental assistance due to falling behind during the pandemic. Now my only source of heat is going to be disconnect and now that the no eviction mandate has been lifted I maybe possibly losing my home if I don’t get my passed due amount caught back up! I feel I was wrongfully denied rental assistance due to the pandemic, and false accusations were made about my gross annual income I only make 25 cents over minimum wage. Due to the pandemic and the governments mandatory stay home
orders which made it difficult to pay for bills has costed a lot of us our homes and lives . My understanding thousands of dollars that were given to places such as the Salvation Army( in Lewis County anyway)has misused their funds to help the community and have denied innocent people the help they needed to get back up from this pandemic Centralia wa. Has failed to do so. Would like to thank you for taking the time to read my complaint.
In the process of losing everything I worked so hard for cause of the pandemic!!

Suggested solution:

Direct me to get some kind of rental assistance due to the pandemic so I don't lose my only source of heat or my home due to falling behind in rent and heating cause of state mandate to stay home when this pandemic first started!
