My complaint:

On the 1st July 2022 I entered The Range store with my trolley from Tescos with a big bag of Tescos shopping and my handbag. I purchased a tin of paint for my bathroom, a paint brush and a few other bits of shopping.
I paid for my goods and left the store however the alarm went off. I returned back to the checkout and a black man checked my handbag and my shopping trolley thats when i realised that the paintbrush was under my Tesco shopping bag. I felt embarrassed and requested that I would pay for the paintbrush using cash.I was told that I would have to wait for the company that makes the paintbrush to call me in 2-3 days. I would then have to pay for it online and once that was done I would have to go back into the store and collect the paintbrush.
I arrived home today on 14th July 2022and received a letter dated 11th July 2022 stating that i am banned from The Range and that a letter will be sent to the Local Police Authority. I am so upset and angry at the same time. I cannot believe that this could happen to me.I work with vulnerable families for over 30 years and I don’t want a criminal record that will jeopardise my new job.

Suggested solution:

I have shopped at The Range for many years and I am upset with myself that I accidentally miss paying for such a small item will affect my credibility.I don't wish to shop at the store anymore I am emotional with grief and I just want my name removed from The Local Police Authority.
