My complaint:
I was in the drive through line at approx. 9:15 pm. on June 2, 2022 and finally made it to the order window when I saw a hand written sign stating that they could only take Debit or Credit cards for payment. When I asked So You Are Not Accepting Cash? and was told it was because they did not have change, I could not believe what I was hearing!
That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard!!! I was a manager for Carl’s Jr. and have been in the food industry all of my life! I got out of my car and convinced 4 cars to back up so I could leave. 3 of the four cars behind me were going to pay cash.
There is no excuse for this to happen and I had to go to Carl’s Jr. in my pajamas a few times to handle problems that needed to be taken care of.
This is straight up poor planning but the management of this store and should not be tolerated regardless of how they feel about people who pay with cash.
I’m angry and insulted by anyone who is for a cashless society and does not care to deal with people who pay with it.
Suggested solution:
The shift manager should have called the store manager and if the store manager didn't care to deal with it then the regional manager needs to be notified of what happened and address the problem. Managers need to be suspended and or fired period.
Employees need to be instructed of what to do when this type of situation arises and handle it according to protocol. Chain of command needs to be followed always.
I was payed very well to manage a Carl's Jr. that is why the employees are top notch.
