My complaint:
I felt discriminated against by a cashier named Betty at the register while checking out around 10:46am. She was not friendly at all and spoke to my parents and I, who are Asian Americans, in a disrespectful tone. When I had put in my debit card and it didn’t go through at first, she said to me rudely, “What card are you using?!” I replied, “My debit card.” She said, “Well, it didn’t go through!” I put my card in again and she pressed something on her screen and it went through. It’s not my fault she didn’t do her job right the first time and shouldn’t put her bad attitude on customers. She also muttered under her breath, “I hate this job.” which made me feel hostility from her. Please correct her behavior because with that bad attitude makes customers feel uncomfortable to shop there next time.
Suggested solution:
Please have a manager talk to the employee Betty at store 721 to correct her attitude towards minority customers so that they don’t feel like they’re being discriminated against. She also openly expresses that she doesn’t like her job, which is unprofessional and uncomfortable for customers.
