My complaint:
$100 Amazon gift card was purchased on August 1, 2021. When opened I found it had been glued back into the packaging and the code no has either been scratched off or covered with glue. It is unreadable. I have notified Shoppers head office and of course for nowhere except for a case no they gave me and then to be told they would not replace the card or the money. This is a scam that is affecting many people. It was recently on CTV News. I have notified the police, BBB, CTV W5, CBC Marketplace, local politician, and every complaint site there is. This is not acceptable. It is not right to take our money and run!!!!
Suggested solution:
I want either a new card that works or the money back and this situation to be looked into as I am not the only one with this problem with Shoppers. I have already spent lots of money running around getting info faxed etc which has produced no results. I guess my local paper is the next step. I have also sent info to the Ottawa Citizen and the Ottawa Sun and CFRA radio station. I will not quit until this is resolved.
