My complaint:

This evening I went to the Sav A Lot, which is just a minute from my house, and I was turned away at 8:46 p.m., 14 minutes before closing. I told the guard that I was just buying one thing, peppers for my salad, and that I would be in and out in a minute. The manager on duty, who could see and hear me, wouldn’t budge. They say they have to close early because they need to count the money before the store closes at 9. I don’t believe that’s the way retail works, is it? I understand people are tired and want to go home, and I would never go in and do a big shopping at the last minute.

This has happened before with even more time until closing, but somehow I couldn’t believe that this would become the norm. I suggest that someone from corporate talk with the manager of this store. Many people in my neighborhood won’t even shop at this store because of how poorly it’s run. I like having a supermarket nearby but it would be nice if it functioned like a real supermarket.

Suggested solution:

Please tell the manager that this store needs to be open until the time posted on the door. If they intend to close a half hour before the actual closing time, then that should be the time indicated on the front of the store. Otherwise shopping there is like a moving target.
